New Theme and This Week in Review

Well, I went and found the theme that I had installed on my old blog (that was, unfortunately, rather dead) and installed it here so that I wouldn’t have to look at the stupid and unimpressive default theme. I also moved the blog out of the main directory of david.vankomen.me so that I can make a professional landing page that isn’t tied to WordPress. As for thoughts on my day and a little bit of an outline on what I want to do with this site, head inside this little jump here.

I’ve decided that I want to have this site reflect several of the things that I like doing. I’ll probably be throwing a resume together in an awesome HTML5 and Javascript style that I’ve seen several other web developers do along with a printable version of what I’ve done. My resume isn’t super impressive as of this post, but I’ll be working on that for sure. I think I also want to do daily updates on this blog. I have a host that has no limit on the size of the database, so I might as well, don’t you think? I’ll probably be posting more on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter than I will be here, but I think that it’ll be fine.

As for what has been going on in my week, it has been a pretty long one so far and it is only the middle of the week. *Sigh.* I took a test on Monday for Biology and did very well on it without forcing myself to put too much effort into it. Tomorrow I have my American History exam that I am really excited for. Wait, I worded that wrong. Excited to be over with the exam. Yeah, that’ll do it.

I’ll be heading home to spend the long weekend with my family. If things go well, we’ll probably be going up to ye olde cabin that I have loved ever since I can remember. What’s more is that my Crazy Aunt and her family will be joining us if we head up there. I haven’t seen them since last July.

Friday is also the opening of a movie that my sister and I have been looking forward to for quite a long time. The movie’s name is The Secret World of Arrietty and it is by the famous Studio Ghibli of Japan. I have loved their movies ever since I was introduced to My Neighbor Totoro when I was little. The trailer to Arrietty is below.

I will probably be seeing it with one of my new friends that I met here at BYU, so it’ll be loads of fun.

So, yeah. That’s my week so far. Hope you enjoyed this nice little post. I’ll do my best to post more, when I remember. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of my plans for the site.
